The Right Way to Paint a Ceiling
Ceiling painting calls for a different technique than walls. First, flaking paint and loose plaster are scraped off and cracks are repaired with filler. If there are water stains or damp marks, ordinary paint will not hide them — a stain-blocking primer is essential. Once the primer has dried, non-drip ceiling paint is applied in two coats using a cross-rolling technique, always working with the direction of the light. That is what keeps roller marks invisible in daylight.
Floors and furniture are fully covered; chandeliers, spotlights and smoke detectors are masked for clean edges. When we finish, your ceilings have an even, easy-on-the-eye whiteness.
Damp and Mouldy Ceilings
In Antalya's humid climate, mould is common on the ceilings of bathrooms, kitchens and north-facing rooms. In these cases we first assess the source of the mould; the surface is treated with a mould cleaner, then painted with an anti-mould additive paint. Frequently Asked Questions
Will paint cover a water stain on the ceiling?
Ordinary paint will not — the stain reappears after a while. A stain-blocking (isolation) primer must be applied first, followed by ceiling paint. We apply this process as standard.
Can I have just the ceilings painted?
Yes. We also come out for ceiling-only jobs; we can renew your ceilings without touching the walls.
Why does ceiling paint drip?
The wrong paint and an overloaded roller are the main causes. With non-drip (thixotropic) ceiling paint and proper roller technique, dripping simply does not happen.
