A System Approach to Metal Painting
A lasting metal finish comes from a three-layer system. Step one is surface preparation: flaking old paint and rust are completely removed with wire brush and sandpaper, and greasy surfaces are cleaned. Step two is the anti-rust primer: it seals the metal off from oxygen and moisture — this is the layer that actually stops rust from coming back. Step three is the topcoat: UV- and rain-resistant synthetic paint outdoors, and fast-drying, odour-free water-based alternatives indoors.
On flat surfaces where brush marks are unwanted we work with rollers, switching to fine brushes for detailed areas where needed.

Can rusted metal be painted?
Yes, but the rust must be removed mechanically and an anti-rust primer applied first. Paint applied directly over rust blisters and flakes off in no time.
How long does metal paint last?
With the right system (cleaning + anti-rust primer + double topcoat), you get 4-6 years of outdoor performance. Close to the sea, the maintenance interval is somewhat shorter.
Synthetic or water-based?
We recommend synthetic paints outdoors for durability, and water-based metal paints indoors for an odour-free, fast solution; we confirm the right choice for each surface at the site visit.
